Our Mission
We are developing a new organization to address the unmet need for a centralized directory of
mental health and social service resources. We want to pave the path for a person who has decided
to “see someone” about his or her problem tackle the practical challenges of finding, selecting,
and reaching out to a specific appropriate service provider.
This site will be a secure searchable database to find legitimate, professional mental health
and social service resources, with a focus on the most affordable and accessible options, which
are otherwise underrepresented in online search results. Additionally, we intend to provide
information about the ethics of the mental health profession and what to expect from the process
of reaching out for help and going through therapy.
We hope that this will be clear and thorough so that people in distress, their loved ones, and
professional caregivers can narrow down to a list of people to contact who are appropriate for
their needs.
We are starting in Houston, and we appreciate your help in developing our contact list to get
us kick-started. If you know of an individual practitioner (psychologist, licensed clinical
social worker, marriage and family therapist, or similar) or clinic in the greater Houston area,
please click below to submit information. We will follow up with them to develop a more complete
and specific description of their services. We want to make sure we don’t miss any available
local resource: community clinics and low cost provider options are always greatly appreciated.
Thanks, and stay tuned for more developments as we move forward and expand.
